I wouldn't say Hypnotherapy is better, than other therapies, what I would say is, suspend any doubt and explore any misconception's you might have. I'm guessing that you might well be surprised what you discover.

At my Leicester based Hypnotherapy practice, many clients arrive for their free consultation with a multitude of questions, a typical one being will you turn me into a chicken?

Here are some of the questions and answers clients ask me before deciding to work with me.

Q) Can you turn me into a chicken?
A) NO its not physically possibly, our genetics make up doesn't allow it ..:)

Q) Can you hypnotise me to cluck like a chicken?
A) Only if you want me to. :)

Q) Will I lose control of myself during Hypnotherapy?
A) No, in truth you gain greater control over your thoughts and life, as a result of having Hypnotherapy, and during the Hypnotherapy session, you will always be in control

Q) What if I can't be hypnotised?
A) Anyone can enter a hypnotic state, it is a myth that some people can't be hypnotised. We drift into altered states of awareness all the time; Hypnosis is an altered state of awareness which is completely natural.

Q) Is it safe?
A) Yes, no pills no gimmicks, all natural, just ensure you work with someone appropriately qualified.

Q) What experience do you have?
A) I worked in Psychiatry for 10 years, in various areas of Mental Ill Health; I also worked in a wide range of specialist areas: Forensics, liaison psychiatry, Post Natal Depression, Elderly, and Eating Disorders. Amongst all of these specialist areas, I develop a sensitive understanding of a whole range of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety & Panic, Psychosis (schizophrenia), Obsessive compulsive depression self harm, to name a few.

I decided to study Psychology after 8yrs of working for the NHS, in the hope, it would provide more solutions for people, other than medication. After my studies in Psychology, i went on to teach this subject to people with Mental Health difficulties in the hope that given the opportunity to gain an understanding into their problem would help them become more resourceful and make change in their life. I now know, that understanding why we experience difficulties in life helps it doesn't always provide us with resources and skills to change. I discovered Hypnotherapy and NLP, which led to me studying many other modalities and spiritual traditions.

Why did I choose Hypnotherapy?
I thought, I would find the answers to making life easier, through psychology. I did gain a fascinating insight, into human consciousness, behaviour and our psyche, but I was disappointed. I have a greater insight and understanding to why we encounter problems in living. Psychology didn't tell me in simple terms how to change, Psychology very much focused on the why someone had a problem, this was frustrating. Richard Bandler, one of the developers of NLP famously said, knowing why we have a problem is second prize. Letting go of the problem is first prize.

This is how Hypnotherapy and NLP caught my curiosity, I found it fascinating that, Hypnotherapy and NLP could help people change so quick, I actually did not believe it, and I was quite dismissive and very sceptical of Hypnotherapy and NLP initially. Looking back I can see how the media had unknowingly influenced my views on Hypnotherapy and NLP. I had formed opinions about Hypnotherapy and NLP, without really exploring what Hypnotherapy and NLP were capable off. I didn't at that point, realise the power of Hypnotherapy and NLP.

I made it my goal to discover more about Hypnotherapy, and from that point, Hypnotherapy and NLP become a massive part of my life. I searched for a reputable and established clinical Hypnotherapy training school.

Since that first training course, I have invested a great deal on training in Hypnotherapy and NLP. Since then, I have worked with literally thousands of people from all over the country, and helped them overcome a wide range of different problems.

Empowerment Hypnotherapy is the leading Hypnotherapy Practice, based in Leicester. On a regular basis, at my Hypnotherapy Practice, in Leicester. Many of the clients respond to one of my early question's "What do you want, as a result of us working in partnership?"

During the free Consultation," The most common response to this question is, "I just want to be happy" Sounds simple and fair enough, who wouldn't want to be happy? It's something we all strive for isn't it? What I have noticed, from working for literally thousands of people, that many people are chasing happiness, and feel disappointed, as it seems unreal or illusionary. What I believe, is they haven't fully considered the following questions:

How they you know when you have got this experience of happiness?
How will you know, you are happy?
How much happiness do you want?
Do they want to be happy all the time?

When I ask clients these questions, they often struggle to give me an answer. I believe, we all deserve to be happy, feeling happy is wonderful, we can be busy doing something quite mundane and suddenly, we feel happiness, if we stopped just for a moment and asked ourselves "why do I feel happy now?" The answer might be, that we are doing something which gives us a sense of being connected; something which is meaningful to us, maybe we feel a part of everything that exists, or maybe it's a feeling of significance.

What I find fascinating is despite many people chasing the feeling or the experience of happiness; very few understand what it means to them. At my Leicester based Hypnotherapy Practice, myself and my client, will explore what happiness really means to them, and create a deeper and richer understanding of happiness. This allows the individual to create a tangible approach, towards achieving it or experiencing it. I'll give you a free tip; it's not something you buy or something which is outside of you.

How does Hypnotherapy & NLP help increase Happiness?

I have studied Hypnotherapy, NLP, Psychology, CBT, and various systems and theories in Psychotherapy. Despite being a teacher in spirituality, I really see myself to be a keen student of the ancient ways of living/being, eg Shamanism, Toltec Wisdom and Buddhism. I integrate these systems and ideas into the sessions, which assist in me in helping my clients, to create a new world view which is in line with they want. Changing your own inner world enables you to see the world differently and feel different.

Hypnotherapy is incredibly powerful, as it works with the unconscious mind, which is like the power house to all of your experiences, habitual ways of thinking, feeling, and being. Working with the unconscious mind we can create deep and meaningful changes, in our thinking, feeling and being, allowing us to notice things in a new way. It's almost as though Hypnotherapy and NLP helps you clean you internal lens in which you see the world.
